Trail description

The descent from Col d'Anzana is part of the Five Crazy Downs - a series of five MTB descents around Tirano. This descent is only suitable for more experienced bikers, since it has significant slopes and exposed hairpin bends.

The departure of the Col d'Anzana freeride route is from Tirano . By pedaling or with the bike shuttle you enter Swiss territory, reach Campascio and turn left. Climb up until you reach Pescia Bassa (there are 16 km from Tirano with a difference in altitude of 1300m).

It is not possible to go any further with motorized vehicles without a special permit issued by Brusio.

As soon as you pass the pass, the descent begins, turn left at the first crossroads and follow a long traverse on a flat single trail. Then begins a series of very amusing hairpin bends - some exposed - in the woods, before reaching the town of Lughina.

This last part can be avoided by taking an alternative dirt road which in any case leads back to Lughina.

The last part of the descent is on mule tracks, with a stony surface and slopes that are sometimes very challenging.

A jolt of adrenaline and lots of fun once you arrive in Tirano and maybe even with the pads out...
